Prof. Dr. Riaz Ahmed received MS degree in Physics from Punjab University Lahore, in 1986. During his Ph.D. studies, he accomplished his research work at the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) Scholarship. He has a great knowledge of research and has authored and co-authored more than 200 research papers and several book chapters published in various journals, books, and conferences of international repute On his research skills, he has attended and presented various papers in international conferences and workshops. He has more than 33 years of teaching experience in different renowned colleges and universities. He has been awarded with various productivity allowances from Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST) based on research publication. He was also rewarded as Production Scientist by PCST in 2003, 2007, 2009, and 2011. He is serving as a member of the American Vacuum Society, Pakistan Institute of Physics (PIP), Pakistan Physical Society (PPS), and Khwarizmi Society. On the basis of his research skills, he won various research grants for HEC and GCU projects. He plays a vital role in the research field of Plasma Spectroscopy. He is also an approved supervisor for Ph.D. candidates in Pakistan. He is currently associated with Govt. College University as Professor, Chairman of Department of Physics. Additionally, he is also a Director of the Center of Advanced Studies in Physics (CASP).
